It has a 10-pin RJ50 (RS-232 serial) male end that goes to the Datalogic brand scanner and the other RJ45 8-pin male connector, which looks similar to an ethernet end, goes to a serial COM port on the back of the Verifone terminal. Typically this RJ45 end goes to the COM8 port on the Verifone terminal. The COM port must be configured to provide the proper output voltage to the scanner, which may require changing settings in the terminal’s BIOS.
