Generous 12 inch platter on top with room for large vegetable weighs and also the top cover can have things weighed on them to lean on-even a factory sticker indicating same. This scanner can be used with a single serial 9 pin RS232 cable to both the scale and the scanner, it can also be used with two separate RS232 serial cables if your program requires it, or a single USB cable.
